Meteorologists say Marathon Monday weather will be sunny, mild
Though temperatures will rise throughout the day, a sea breeze in Boston should keep the finish line cool.
Boston Marathon runners and spectators are in for a sunny and mild Marathon Monday. Expect slightly cooler temperatures, likely in the mid to upper 50s, at the starting line in Hopkinton, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Kevin Cadima.
“The temperature in Hopkinton will rise throughout the day, but the temperature in Boston at the finish should also be in the 50s because of a cooling sea breeze,” Cadima said.
As of Sunday morning, sunny skies are expected overhead for Monday.
“No chance of rain,” Cadima said.
Globe meteorologist Ken Mahan said temperatures should be between 55 and 60 degrees Monday afternoon in Boston, with wind speeds are predicted to stay below 10 miles per hour throughout the course.
