A talent hunt for an upcoming Rhode Island film
LDI casting has posted audition information for a movie that will be made in Rhode Island this spring. “Almost Mercy,’’ which appears to be a dark thriller, will star Kane Hodder, best known for playing Jason Voorhees in a bunch of the “Friday the 13th’’ films, and Bill Moseley of the Rob Zombie movie “The Devil’s Rejects’’ and the classic cult film “Army of Darkness.’’ LDI is looking for kids to play some of the younger characters including “Young Emily,’’ a 10-year-old described as “lean, edgy . . . Not your typical girly girl. An outsider. Mature for her age.’’ LDI is also looking for some grown-ups to play teachers. Yes, this horror film appears to be set in a school. LDI worked on “Moonrise Kingdom’’ and “27 Dresses.’’
