Mayor Marty Walsh gets a party with song and dance at the Hynes Convention Center
Mayor Marty Walsh’s inauguration kicked off early Monday morning, but the real party didn’t get going until after 6 p.m. The lineup for the celebration — which was set to run until midnight at the Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center — included comedians Lenny Clarke and Steve Sweeney, the Boston Pops with Ellis Hall and the Dropkick Murphys, dance by the Floorlords, and songs by teenage Boston singer-songwriter
Andrea LeClaire. She told us before her performance that she’d be singing “Love on Top’’ by Beyoncé, “Fallin’ ’’ by Alicia Keys, and “America the Beautiful.’’ She’s too young (17) to have voted in the election, but told us that she does have a connection to the Walsh campaign. Her best friend Shae is the niece of Walsh’s partner, Laurie Higgins.
