3 men arrested after disturbance at North End party
Three men were arrested early this morning after Boston Police responded to a call about a party on Hanover Street in the North End, according to the police website.
Andrew Leighton, 20, of Lowell; Kevin Widnizki, 20, of Reading; and Rakan Alzaydi, 23, of Quincy were charged with disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct, according to police. Leighton was also charged with assault and battery on a police officer.
When police officers arrived at 226 Hanover St. after getting a 12:48 a.m. call, they observed Leighton, Widnizki, and Alzaydi standing on a fourth-floor fire escape yelling and apparently drinking alcohol.
When police announced their presence, one of the three men cursed at the officers while another threw a lit cigarette at them, police said.
Police later came into the apartment, but Leighton refused to allow the officers inside and assaulted one of the officers. Widnizki resisted arrest, but all three men were eventually handcuffed, police said. Witnesses told police that the men were urinating off the fire escape, according to the website.
The three men are scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Boston Municipal Court.
