Neighborhood House Charter School gets a boost from boldfacers
Supporters of Dorchester’s Neighborhood House Charter School gathered at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline for their annual gala the other night. Guests included Sherry and Alan Leventhal, Maria and Dan Gerrity, Connie and Rob Walkingshaw, Dale Cabot Dorsey and Walter Cabot, and Amanda Werner, daughter of Sox chairman Tom Werner. Civil rights leader Bob Moses was in the audience at a weekend performance of “All the Way’’ at the ART. Among the people portrayed in the Broadway-bound show, the 78-year-old Moses is the only one still living. He met afterward with the cast, including star Bryan Cranston. Before heading to Tampa for Game 3 of the ALDS, Sox slugger David Ortiz celebrated the team’s 2-0 series lead at Emerald Lounge. Big Papi was joined by a few friends, including Bruins forward Shawn Thorton and wife Erin, chef Jason Santos, and the unofficial Red Sox barber, the stylist known as Monster99. (His real name is Angel Lucas Pena.) Monster99 texted us Monday to say he had arrived in Tampa to give the bearded BoSox a little trim before the game.
