Two rescued in Cambridge after being marooned in bucket lift 60 feet in air
Cambridge firefighters rescued two people today who were stuck more than 60 feet in the air in a bucket lift that had malfunctioned.
Ladder Company 2 was dispatched to Auburn Street near Central Square at about 12:17 p.m. to save the two people.
The tower ladder, which can extend 95 feet, reached up to the stuck workers, who clipped their safety belts onto the fire apparatus and were brought to the ground, said Cambridge Assistant Fire Chief Gerard Mahoney.
“It was a very smooth operation,’’ Mahoney said. “There were no injuries.’’
