Passion Pit’s Michael Angelakos talks Boston
After closing out the Boston Calling music festival on City Hall plaza, Passion Pit frontman (and former Emerson student) Michael Angelakos (above) talked to the Globe about the band’s roots. He said Boston helped shape the sound of the band, which he started with friends from the Berklee College of Music. Playing dance nights such as The Pill helped the act evolve into an indie-pop act, as opposed to just another college rock band. He also said that even though he lives in Brooklyn, N.Y., he knows where the band is from. “The concept of Passion Pit was developed in Boston. We stand by Passion Pit being from Boston. That is very special to us.’’
