Police seeking man in elevator assault in S. Boston building

Police are looking for a man who assaulted a woman in the elevator of a South Boston building.

At around 3:34 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a call of an assault in the area of Channel Center Street, police said.

The victim told officers she was assaulted by a man in an elevator. The man allegedly grabbed the victim’s waist and neck. She was able to exit the elevator safely, police said.

The suspect was described as a white male in his 20s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a red complexion that could be from a sunburn. He was clean-shaven, with short hair, and wearing a white shirt with graphics and gray or olive green cargo shorts.

The victim declined medical attention, police said.
