In response to April’s tragic Marathon bombing attack, a number of high-profile acts are performing at the Boston Strong benefit concert at the TD Garden, including Aerosmith (pictured) and Jason Aldean. Check out the lineup for tonight’s big show. –Matt Juul/Boston.com correspondent

Aerosmith

Frontman Steven Tyler and the rest of the legendary rock band Aerosmith are one of the more notable acts performing at the Boston Strong benefit concert. The group, sometimes referred to as the “Bad Boys of Boston,’’ has had close ties to the city since they first formed in Boston back in 1970.
Bassist Tom Hamilton recently tweeted a picture of himself preparing for tonight’s show.

Dropkick Murphys

Local favorites the Dropkick Murphys recently announced that they would be joining the lineup for the event. The band tweeted the news May 24 saying, “We are joining the #BostonStrong @Concert4Boston lineup & rescheduling Albuquerque @SunshineTheater for 7/1.’’

New Kids on the Block

Donnie Wahlberg and the rest of the New Kids on the Block crew will look to get the crowd going when they return home. Wahlberg recently tweeted his thoughts on the event, saying, “We’re shipping up to Boston! Tomorrow we do it for our hometown! For the proud! For the heroic! For the strong! #BostonStrong #OneFund.’’

Jason Aldean

Jason Aldean was original slated to stop by Boston just once this year for his pair of concerts at Fenway Park in July. However, the country music star will be taking the stage at TD Garden.
Aldean tweeted his excitement for the show, “#BostonStrong concert tonight! Stream it live starting at 7PM/ET.’’

Jimmy Buffett

Singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett, who plays the area on June 22 when his tour stops by the Comcast Arena, signed on for the benefit show.

James Taylor

Legendary singer-songwriter James Taylor will return to his native Boston for the benefit concert.

Carole King

Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Carole King will also be featured at the Boston Strong show. King was awarded the 2013 Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song during a recent performance at the White House.

Boston

Named after the city they formed in, the band Boston is also set to rock out at the Boston Strong show. The group recently posted some behind the scenes photos of preparations for the event on its Facebook page.

Dane Cook

Cambridge native and all-around funny man Dane Cook will look to bring some laughs when he performs. The comedian recently tweeted how excited he is to be back in the city, “I’m having a great time back in Boston. It’s great coming home!!’’

J. Geils Band

The J. Geils Band, which hails from Worcester, will once again reunite for the benefit event.

Malden’s own heavy metal band Extreme is also slated to rock out at tonight’s concert.

Cambridge-born funny man Steven Wright will be bringing his deadpan style of stand-up to tonight’s Boston Strong event at the TD Garden.
