Sarah Burns and David McMahon screen ‘The Central Park Five’
Sarah Burns, daughter of Ken Burns, was at Suffolk University on Wednesday night for a screening of “The Central Park Five,’’ the documentary she directed with her father and her husband, David McMahon, about the five black and Latino teenagers who were wrongly convicted of raping a white woman in Central Park in 1989. Burns’s husband joined her for the screening, as did Raymond Santana, one of the “Central Park 5’’; Suffolk University Law School professor Kim McLaurin; and Suffolk University Law School dean Camille Nelson. The screening was part of Wednesday’s “Annual Children on Trial Conference: Analyzing False Confessions and Their Impact on Juveniles.’’
