Boston man charged with breaking into Brookline home
A 20-year-old Boston man is facing charges for breaking into a Brookline home Thursday night, Brookline police said.
At 8:30 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Blake Road to a report of a break-in in progress, police said. A resident had heard glass breaking and called 911.
A responding officer noted Liwei Mei walking away from the scene, and when the officer approached Mei, he took off running, police said in a statement. The suspect was later seen getting into the passenger side of a vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, Mei was arrested. He now faces charges that include breaking and entering in the night time with intent to commit a felony, police said.
Mei is to be arraigned today in Brookline District Court.
