Governor Patrick thanks 106-year-old voter
Governor Deval Patrick paid a visit to 106-year-old Elizabeth Hinton of Dorchester today, thanking her for her vote for President Obama and presenting her with a framed copy of a Boston Globe article about her determination to vote that was signed by both Patrick and the president.
[fragment number=0]Hinton used a walker as she voted at the Lilla G. Frederick Pilot Middle School auditorium in Dorchester. It was her 22d presidential election. Patrick was not on the ballot but campaigned hard for his friend Obama.
Hinton told a Globe reporter on Election Day that she adheres to a few simple rules in life. Her clothes must be fashionable and fit well, she never eats seconds, and when it comes to voting, she does it in person.
She also revealed her secret to longevity in the Globe article.
