Pilobolus dancers vote with their bodies
From its home in a lesser-known Washington — Washington Depot, that is, the small town in western Connecticut — the dance company Pilobolus has thrown itself into the election. Spelling the word “vote’’ with their muscled and malleable bodies, company members posed for a photo that they’ve used to ignite their own get-out-the-vote effort, the Pilobolus Vote Project. The troupe encouraged their neighbors to spell out the word in their own ways, and sent photographer Robert Whitman to shoot the ensuing displays of creativity. Those images are collected at www.pilobolus.org.
People elsewhere can participate in the project by taking their own pictures and posting them on the photo-sharing site Instagram with the hashtag #pilobolusvoteproject, or by e-mailing them to [email protected].
