Harry Connick Jr. helps raise $3.3 million for BC’s Pops Scholars
Singer and actor Harry Connick Jr., who appears to have stopped aging, performed with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops during Friday night’s 20th anniversary celebration of “Pops on the Heights.’’ The annual concert raises money for Pops Scholars, a group that helps students pay for tuition at Boston College. This year’s celebration raised $3.3 million. Crooner Connick brought his own big band to help him out during the show. One of his regular sax players couldn’t be there, but Branford Marsalis happily filled in. Joining Connick (center) in the green room during intermission were the Rev. William P. Leahy (left), president of Boston College, and
John Fish, CEO of Suffolk Construction.
