Boston Police identify 21-year-old man shot to death on Southern Avenue in Dorchester Friday

A man shot to death near Southern Avenue in Dorchester early Friday morning was identified as Deandre Townsend, 21, of Boston, police said in a statement.

Officers found Townsend suffering from an apparent gunshot wound shortly after 1 a.m. Friday, according to Boston Police. He was pronounced dead at Boston Medical Center.
