Bourne rollover causes five-mile backup for off-Cape traffic
A two-car rollover caused a five-mile backup on Route 25 in Bourne early Sunday afternoon, state police said.
Two cars collided and rolled over around 1:20 p.m. Sunday in the eastbound lane of Route 25, a 10-mile road that connects the Bourne Bridge with I-495, near the Bournedale Road overpass, said Lt. Daniel Richard, a State Police spokesman.
Two passengers were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
State Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
The right lane and middle lanes of the three-lane road were closed until 3:15 p.m., causing heavy off-Cape Sunday to back up about five miles.
