Tom Brady’s cliff jump raises eyebrows
When photos surfaced Friday of Tom Brady jumping into the water from a rocky outcropping in Costa Rica, we knew immediately what people would say: How could the Pats’ star QB risk life and limb — and his football team’s fortunes — in the selfish pursuit of fun? Well, c’mon, people, he’s a big boy, and he really wasn’t all that high up when he leapt. (He was also on vacation, enjoying some family time with wife Gisele Bundchen
and their son, Benjamin.) Still, it doesn’t sound like Pats coach Bill Belichick
is too pleased with TB12’s derring-do. Asked about the photos at training camp Friday, Belichick was uncharacteristically chatty. “We have rules. There are NFL rules and then there are club rules,’’ Belichick told the Globe’s intrepid Pats reporter Shalise Manza Young
. “And those are handled between the club and the league and players. I don’t want to comment on any of our club rules or any discipline we have. It’s all handled internally. . . . Wherever anything falls, it’s between the club and the player.’’ (Belichick said he hadn’t seen the pictures.) Brady, you might recall, previously caught a little flak for riding his bicycle without a helmet.
