Big Papi makes a wish come true
David Ortiz made the day of Make-A-Wish recipient Alex Gomez Tavares this week. Not only did the 9-year-old from East Boston meet his idol, but the Sox slugger also arranged to have Tavares throw out the first pitch and then watch the game with his family high atop the Green Monster. The appreciative Tavares is being treated for acute myeloid leukemia.
