Man shot in eye with BB gun in Brighton home invasion, BC police notified

A man was shot in the eye with a BB gun on Wednesday night when two intruders broke into his apartment in Brighton, Boston police said.

Officer Nicole Grant, a department spokeswoman, said a caller reported a home invasion at 1982 Commonwealth Ave. at 9:55 p.m. Grant said the caller heard a commotion and later saw a man on the street with his face covered in blood.

She said the caller also reported that two male suspects had forced their way into the apartment, possibly from the roof. Grant could not say what hospital, if any, the victim was taken to.

She said one of the suspects was described as a 6-foot, 200-pound male with short dark hair and dark clothing. He was carrying a brief case when he fled, Grant said. She had no description for the second suspect.

The police spokeswoman said Boston College police were notified, but she did not know if the victim is a BC student. A BC spokesman did not immediately return messages seeking comment late Wednesday night.
