Harvard grad gets big ABC deal
Another funny Cambridge person is leaving NBC’s “The Office.’’ Last month news broke that Cambridge native Mindy Kaling would be leaving the popular show to write her own series for Fox. Now the show’s head writer, Harvard grad Daniel Chun, is signing a deal with ABC Studios. According to Deadline.com, Chun, who’s also written and produced for “The Simpsons’’ (inlcuding the episode “Bart Gets a ‘Z,’’’ which pokes fun at Tufts), is getting a seven-figure deal at ABC. Deadline.com also says that Chun will join the network after this season of “The Office’’ is over. Like many “Simpsons’’ writers, Chun got his comedy writing start at the Harvard Lampoon.
