Joe Perry is busy while Aerosmith preps for new tour
Joe Perry is staying busy. We’re told the Aerosmith guitarist will be among the performers at boxing legend Muhammad Ali’s 70th birthday bash in Las Vegas this weekend. (Perry will play Bob Dylan’s “Man of Peace,’’ which he covers on a new CD benefiting Amnesty International.) The guest list for The Greatest’s party includes includes Stevie Wonder, Samuel L. Jackson, Larry King, Snoop Dogg, Cee Lo Green, Jim Brown, Anthony Hopkins, Lenny Kravitz, Sugar Ray Leonard, Evander Holyfield, Thomas Hearns, and Roberto Duran. Perry is just back from five days in Baton Rouge, where he taped two episodes of Discovery’s “Sons of Guns.’’ We’re also hearing that Aerosmith will kick off a US tour – their first Steven Tyler became a judge on “American Idol’’ – on June 16.
