Harvard introduces venture fund with New Enterprise Associates
New Enterprise Associates and Harvard University are introducing a seed-stage investment fund designed to support student startups and nurture technologies that trace their roots to Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The fund, called the Experiment Fund, will begin today, the venture firm said.
Founded in 1977, New Enterprise Associates has invested $11 billion in more than 650 companies in the information technology, energy technology and healthcare sectors.
The firm has more than 65 investment professionals working out of offices in the US, India, and China. Since its founding, the firm has backed more than 165 companies that have gone public and invested in more than 255 companies that have been successfully merged or acquired.
