Inman Square assaults lead Cambridge police to warn women walking in area

Cambridge police plan to step up security around Youville Hospital and Rehabilitation Center after a man indecently assaulted one women then exposed himself to another Tuesday night.

At about 7 p.m., a woman reported to police that a white man between 25 and 30 years old, with brown hair and wearing a dark coat, approached her between Highland and Marie avenues in Cambridge and groped her.

Soon after, another woman called police and said she was flashed by a man with the same description on Maple Avenue, about a block away from the first incident.

Police searched the area but were not able to locate the suspect.

The investigation is ongoing, and Cambridge police plan to add extra units to the area.
