Baby found in Dorchester apartment dies; 4-month-old was found ‘in distress’ on Monday

A baby girl found in critical condition earlier this week in a Dorchester apartment was pronounced dead last night, Boston police said.

On Monday, the 4-month-old, now identified as Allejah Jarret, was found not breathing and “in distress’’ at her home at 70 Ames St., police said.

Police found no sign of trauma in their initial investigation. They are now awaiting an autopsy to determine the cause of Jarrett’s death, they said.
