Two-month-old girl in critical condition after being found in Dorchester apartment
A two-month-old girl is in critical condition at the Boston Medical Center after being found in a home on Ames Street in Dorchester, Boston police said.
Arriving officers found the infant “in distress and not breathing,’’ police said in a statement. The child was rushed to Boston Medical Center where she was listed in critical condition this afternoon.
Police spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll said in a statement that “the preliminary investigation has indicated no visible signs of trauma.’’
Homicide detectives are investigating, which is standard protocol in cases where a person has suffered life-threatening injuries, Driscoll said.
Police arrived at Ames Street apartment around 2:21 a.m.
