Ayla Reynolds, was reported missing by her father who called local police Saturday morning, the Associated Press.
The girl is described as being 2-feet, 9 inches tall and weighing 30 pounds with blonde hair, and blue eyes and last seen at about 10 p.m. Friday, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s website. Her left arm is in sling.
A Facebook page was created Saturday to help find the girl. At the time, she was wearing her left arm in a sling over green pajamas with polka-dots and “Daddy’s Princess’’ written on the front, the site says.
The girl went missing from the home of her father who lives separately from the girl’s mother, according to the Associated Press. Both of the parents, along with other family members, have been interviewed by police, who said all were cooperative, the national newswire reported.
Waterville Police Chief Joseph Massey told reporters in Maine that police have interviewed neighbors and searched the area, including using a dog to search for her inside the house, yesterday and again today
The chief said no leads have been uncovered and that all possibilities, including abduction, were being investigated, the AP reported.
“Please know that at this hour, there is a large team of very dedicated, efficient and well trained investigators, all working hard to locate Ayla Reynolds and bring her home,’’ the Maine city’s police department said on its Facebook page at about 5 p.m. today.
“Because every available investigator is working hard to solve this case, we have not been able to post regular updates … If we need volunteers, we will put the word out.’’
The department urged anyone with information about the girl’s location to contact them at 207-680-4700.
