Cambridge woman arraigned in death of father

A 29-year-old Cambridge woman was ordered held without bail after her arraignment today on charges of domestic assault and battery in the death of her father at a Cambridge residence on Sunday.

Gylene Verna is being held pending a dangerousness hearing. She is slated to return to Cambridge District Court on Nov. 29.

Emergency medical personnel were summoned to an Elm Street address shortly after noon on Sunday. Guy Verna, 62, was pronounced dead at Cambridge Hospital.

“I believe that a completed autopsy report will at least make things more clear as to where my client stands in regard to that death,’’ said Earl Howard, the attorney representing Gylene Verna.
