Cambridge woman charged in connection with man’s ‘suspicious death’
A 29-year-old Cambridge woman has been charged with domestic assault and battery in connection with the “suspicious death’’ of an unidentified man at a Cambridge residence today that authorities said appeared “to be an isolated familial domestic incident.’’
Gylene Verna, 29, of Cambridge, faces domestic assault and battery charges in connection with the death, according to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
Authorities said that emergency medical personnel responded to 77 Elm St. for a medical call shortly after 12 p.m. today.
Officials said the man was pronounced dead at Cambridge City Hospital after he was transported from the residence, a three-story apartment building, according to city records.
The man’s name and age are being withheld pending family notification and his hometown was not confirmed by authorities, according to Jessica Venezia, spokeswoman for district attorney’s office, which is investigating the incident along with Cambridge Police.
The medical examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death, officials said.
