Police fugitive unit arrests home invasion suspect; woman faces charge of being a career criminal
A 37-year-old woman is facing charges of being an armed career criminal after she was arrested for breaking into a Dorchester home in October, where she and an unknown male accomplice threatened the occupants with a gun and demanded money, Boston police said.
Around 2 p.m. on Oct. 26, Cyndi Rock of Dorchester knocked on the door of a Charlotte Street residence with an unknown male accomplice, police said. When a victim answered, Rock and the male suspect forced their way in, yelling “Where’s the money? Get on the ground!’’
Rock had a black handgun in her hand, victims told police. At one point, Rock waved her gun in the air and yelled, “Don’t make me start shooting,’’ police said.
The occupants gave the two suspects an unknown amount of cash. The suspects also stole a 32’’ flat-screen TV and some gold-colored rings.
The witnesses were able to positively identify Rock later that day, police said, at which point officers secured an arrest warrant.
Rock was arrested Thursday on a warrant secured by police for armed home invasion, armed robbery, and firearms charges. She also faces a charge of being an armed career criminal, a charge brought when suspects have had previous violent felony convictions.
Police are continuing to investigate the identity of the male suspect.
