One man dead in double shooting in Roxbury

Two maintenance workers in their 40s were shot, one fatally, in Roxbury Wednesday night, according to Boston police and a public safety official and community outreach worker with knowledge of the case.

One of the victims was pronounced dead at 40 Kensington Park, while the other was taken to Boston Medical Center in critical condition, said Officer Eddy Chrispin, a police spokesman.

Both of the victims were wearing maintenance uniforms, according to the public safety official and community worker who both requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak about the case.

The incident occurred near the Warren Gardens housing project in Roxbury.
