Tom Brady cuts his hair, fans rejoice
After about months of suffering through comparisons to Justin Bieber, fans blaming his wife, Gisele Bundchen, for his shaggy look, and dissections of his short-lived pony tail on the Internet, Patriots QB Tom Brady debuted a short haircut yesterday — a conservative crop reminiscent of his ‘do during his Super Bowl wins.
As soon as Brady appeared at a press conference yesterday and it was clear that his chin-length hair had been snipped, everyone in Patriotsland seemed to have an opinion — except for Brady himself.
“Tom is 100 percent focused on football— and not hair,’’ his marketing and personal business assistant, Ben Rawitz, told the Globe yesterday.
Details about the big cut are as closely guarded as the Pats’ playbook, but here’s what we do know: His longtime stylist, Pini Swissa, cut the famous hair on Monday night, and the shearing took place not at the Pini Swissa Salon (on the fancy end of Newbury Street), but rather at an undisclosed location. Also undisclosed: what magazines Brady flipped through while awaiting his shampoo.
By early afternoon yesterday, Brady had become a trending topic on Twitter, and most of his fans were pleased with the new look. DanielleDoes wrote, “tom brady cut his hair and my second class of the day was cancelled #greatday.’’ @jennamacaroni put it, “This day has finally come.’’
Meanwhile, @BuffaloRising quipped, “You’re welcome America.’’
