Dunkin’ signs on with ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown
Fans who tune in early for the Monday night football game could get some exposure to Dunkin’ Donuts brand messaging along with an analysis of X’s and O’s.
That’s because Dunkin’ Donuts, the Canton-based coffee-and-baked goods chain, has recently signed a multi-season sponsorship with ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown’’ show.
The deal gives Dunkin’ Donuts exclusive rights to Field Pass segments that air during the program, which is hosted by Chris Berman and NFL analysts Cris Carter, Mike Ditka, Tom Jackson, Keyshawn Johnson, Chris Mortensen, and NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Dunkin’ said.
Well entrenched in its home territory of New England, Dunkin’ is in the midst of an aggressive expansion plan to grow its national presence. The chain currently has regional sponsorships with the New England Patriots, the New York Giants, the New York Jets, and the Dallas Cowboys.
“’Dunkin’ Donuts Field Pass’ will give our brand unique visibility during one of ESPN’s most popular programs’’, John Costello, chief global marketing and innovation officer at Dunkin’ Brands, the chain’s parent company, said in a statement. “’America Runs on Dunkin,’ and certainly the country’s interest in professional football has never been greater.’’
