Obama rental on Martha’s Vineyard is for sale

If President Obama wants to vacation again on Martha’s Vineyard, he may have to find a new place to stay. The 28-acre estate known as Blue Heron Farm is on the market, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which states that the property’s owner, Republican timber businessman William Van Devender, is asking $24.5 million for the place. The compound, which has hosted the First Family for the three years, is on Tisbury Great Pond in Chilmark. “It’s the quintessential Vineyard property — elegant, understated; it doesn’t reek of nouveau riche stuff,’’ listing agent Mark Jenkins of Wallace & Co. Sotheby’s International Realty told THR. “Perhaps the new owners will want the Obamas to be their guests.’’
