Body found off Chatham is identified as missing R.I. woman
A body found in the waters off Chatham Wednesday has been identified as that of a woman who went missing in Eastham over the weekend, police said.
Rachel Collins, 37, of West Warwick RI, was reported missing by her roommate on Sunday, a State Police statement said. Her car was found in the parking lot of Nauset Light Beach.
State Police received a report around 11 a.m. Wednesday of a body floating in the water. Troopers recovered the body, which was approximately two miles off of Chatham, and nine miles south of where Collins’s car was found.
The investigation into her death is ongoing, State Police said.
