Ann Romney, wife of Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney, has scheduled three appearances today and tomorrow in South Carolina, an important primary state for her husband.

She will be speaking at a luncheon and an afternoon tea with Republican groups today in Bluffton and North Charleston, respectively, followed by a meeting with voters at a restaurant tomorrow morning in Myrtle Beach.

It is not Ann Romney’s first involvement in the campaign.

On July 4, she marched in a parade in Wolfeboro, N.H., where the Romneys have a summer home, while her husband stumped at Independence Day celebrations elsewhere in the state.

The next day, she accompanied her husband to a town hall meeting in Wolfeboro, where Mitt Romney told an audience that he and his wife met at a party and fell in love when she was 15 and he was 18.

Ann Romney, who battled with and has come to live with multiple sclerosis, was also a visible presence throughout her husband’s 2008 presidential run.

This time around, he is aiming for a win in New Hampshire, followed by a strong finish in South Carolina to show his durability among social conservatives.
