Let the steel guitars throb, and the fiddles wail. A famous country music star will stop yodeling about honkey-tonk angels and dead hound dogs long enough to join the Dunkin’ Donuts marketing band wagon.

Dunkin’ Donuts announced a partnership that will have the Canton-based coffee-and-baked goods chain signing on as a sponsor of country singer Joe Nichols’s nationwide concert tour.

“To officially kick off the partnership, Joe Nichols will become the first person ever to ‘take over’ Dunkin’ Donuts’ official Facebook page during a live video chat on Wednesday, June 22,’’ Dunkin’ said in a press release.

The release added, “Nichols fans can watch an intimate acoustic performance of a few of his chart-topping songs and his latest single and have the opportunity to ask the acclaimed country music star questions about his music, current tour, and life on the road.’’

Much of this partnership effort will look to boost Dunkin’s iced coffee.

In a press release that made much of Nichols’s first name, Dunkin’ said it has “welcomed another ‘Joe’ to the brand.’’
