Romney video hits Obama ‘bumps in road’

Add the web video to the op-ed column as a favored means for communication by Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign.

This morning, the Massachusetts Republican released a new video criticizing President Obama over the pace of the economy’s recovery.

Titled “20,000,000 Bumps In The Road,’’ it pivots off of the president’s recent comment that an uptick in unemployment was among the “bumps in the road’’ to recovery from the Great Recession.

Romney has seized on theme in recent appearances and campaign statements.

“In 2008, candidate Barack Obama talked a lot about how the other side ‘just didn’t get it.’ Now that millions of Americans have lost their jobs under his economic leadership, President Obama is proving ‘he just doesn’t get it,’’’ said Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul.

The video was released a day after Romney himself faced criticism from the Democratic Party. The multimillionaire, who has eschewed a salary for the past decade, joked in Florida yesterday that he, too, was “unemployed.’’
