Hundreds of synchronized, LED-lit drones lit up the sky over Boston Common on Saturday, forming winter-themed designs for the city’s inaugural Holiday Drone Show.
Spectators packed the park at 6 and 8 p.m. for the shows, where the drones launched from the corner of Boylston and Charles Streets.
The display will return to the Common twice each Saturday evening through Dec. 20. Hosted by Meet Boston and the City of Boston, the drone shows are a centerpiece of Boston’s first “Frostival,” a season-long series of events that aims to drive up tourism and establish Boston as a winter destination.
Other recurring Frostival events include the Holiday Market at Snowport, the SoWa Winter Festival, and the Historic Holiday Stroll.
