Where to celebrate New Year’s Eve around Boston

Ring in the new year with live music at these local bars and restaurants.

As the clock ticks down to 2025, those looking to celebrate the new year are in luck. Several bars and restaurants around Boston will keep their doors open for late-night bashes.

From fireworks to cocktail tastings, these venues promise each partygoer a night out filled with music, dancing, food, drinks, and more.

New Year’s Eve Parties:

First Night Boston

Revelers can ring in the new year at Boston’s annual citywide celebration First Night, free to all and open to the public. The festivities will kick off in the afternoon at City Hall Plaza and run into the beginning of 2025. Partiers of all ages can enjoy a lineup of events, including a parade, ice sculptures, and live entertainment.

The city’s signature New Year’s Eve celebration will feature figure skating performances, cultural dances and concerts, kids’ arts and crafts activities, puppet shows, a midnight countdown with laser displays, and more.

A parade will leave from City Hall Plaza at 6 p.m. The public can follow along behind the performers to Boston Common, where fireworks will go off at 7 p.m. Another fireworks show will light up the city’s harbor as the clock hits midnight.

Local food vendors from Boston Public Market will serve New England favorites as well as global cuisines like Vietnamese- and Moroccan-inspired bites.

Liberty Hotel

The Liberty Hotel’s New Year’s Eve party, “SKY — A Celestial Escape,” will be filled with live entertainment, photo-ops, a buffet, and lots of champagne. Beginning at 8 p.m., the party will have three local DJs, aerial performances from the Boston Circus Guild, dance routines from the Onyxx Group, and more. Tickets start at $110, and guests can purchase VIP packages for larger groups or to include overnight accommodations at the hotel.

Rochambeau

This Back Bay restaurant is throwing “Le Réveillon,” an elegant, French-inspired party with fine dining and live jazz music on two floors. Guests can enjoy VIP access to the parlor lounge, where they can play card games to win prizes. Rochambeau will offer French cuisine throughout the evening and a champagne toast at midnight. The party begins at 9 p.m.

High Street Place

High Street Place’s “Après Ski” will have a cozy, ski lodge feel that pays homage to European ski traditions. The menu includes truffle fries and fondue as well as spiked hot chocolate and frosty cocktails. Guests can enjoy live sets from DJs, performances from the Boston Circus Guild, and a screening of Warren Miller’s 75. The food hall will also have an ice bar and shot skis, snowy photo-ops, and games like air hockey and Skee-Ball. The party begins at 7 p.m.

Westin Hotel Copley Place

The hotel is hosting a 21+ “Resolution Ball,” with ticket options for dinner at 7 p.m., a reception at 8:30 p.m., or the party at 9:30 p.m. The menu will have Italian cuisine inspired by the North End. Guests can enjoy complimentary tiaras and party hats. A silent auction benefitting the Ellie Fund will include items like autographed sports merchandise and an overnight trip to New York.

Nash Bar & Stage

The country-themed bar will be hosting “Denim & Diamonds” on New Year’s Eve. Starting at 10 p.m., there will be live music from local band Witzend and DJ Reklss. The bar will offer cocktails and festivities with a Southern twist.

Fenway venues

Ten Fenway locations will be celebrating New Year’s Eve with a flashy theme. There will be a “Casino Royale” night at Game On, “Gatsby” at Lansdowne Pub, “Wonderland” at Bill’s Bar, “Wild West” at Loretta’s Last Call, “Aces Wild” at Bleacher Bar, “High Roller” at Cheeky Monkey, “Lucky 7’s” at Lucky Strike, “Lucky Dragons” at SOJUba, “The Hangover” at Two Saints Tavern, and “Blackjack” at TimeOut Market.

New Year’s Eve Food & Dining Options:

Rowes Wharf Sea Grille

This waterfront restaurant will offer a unique prix fixe menu from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. For $120 per person, guests can choose from an array of dishes, from caviar and bao buns to steak frites and lobster. The menu includes vegetarian, gluten-free, and nut-free options.

SRV

This South End Italian restaurant will be open from 5 to 10:30 p.m. Guests with reservations will have an Arsenale (pre-set) menu — including oysters, halibut, and ricotta gnocchi — for $100 per person. Walk-in diners can order from an a la carte menu at the bar.

Bistro du Midi

This restaurant will have five courses of French cuisine for $175 per person. Alongside dishes with traces of New England influences, guests can enjoy premium wine in their upstairs dining room or first-floor bistro. The menu includes North Atlantic halibut, white truffle tagliatelle, and more.

Terra

Eataly’s wood-burning grill will be open from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. for a “festive Italian feast.” Guests will get a complimentary glass of Prosecco upon arrival and can enjoy oysters, prosciutto, pastries, and more throughout the night. There will also be live music and a dance floor. A ticket for the four-course dinner and wine is $250.

Harvest

Located in Cambridge, Harvest will be offering a four-course meal for $90 per person. Guests can select from a prix fixe menu that includes French onion soup, beef Wellington, mushroom marsala, and more.

Davio’s

Davio’s will have a four-course menu for $150 per person. Open between 4 p.m. and 12 a.m., the restaurant will serve oysters, lobster bisque, filet mignon, steak, and more. A “special” dessert will round out the meal.

Where to go Dancing on New Year’s Eve:

There will also be several dance parties around the city, including Rivas at Mémoire for $75; Costa at Big Night Live for $42.50; Breakbones at The Grand for $75; Disco Fever with Dirty Dek at Bijou for $50; and JesseJess at Empire for $50.
