The annual Head of the Charles Regatta takes place Saturday and Sunday. Here are some important facts and figures about the historic event.
51: The number of years the Head of the Charles has been held. The first race was organized in 1965.
11,ooo: The number of participants in the Regatta every year. It is the largest two day rowing event in the world.
400,000: The number of spectators that line the banks of the Charles River for the regatta.
1,900: The number of boats that will be on the Charles River during the Regatta.

$65,000: The amount the Head of the Charles’ charity program has raised since 1998 for its charities in Cambridge.
