Boston hotels increasing pricing, programming for the World Cup this summer
Travelers will find a more than 300% increase in price around opening matches.
Boston hotels are increasing pricing and programming this summer during the FIFA World Cup.
Boston is one of 16 cities hosting World Cup games and Massachusetts is expecting more than 2 million international visitors, according to Gov. Maura Healey.
Seven World Cup games will take place at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough in June and July, temporarily rebranded as Boston Stadium.
“These games will induce unprecedented economic activity that will reverberate across the region,” wrote Martha Sheridan, president and CEO of Meet Boston, in a statement. “Greater Boston hospitality partners – hotels, restaurants, museums, attractions, entertainment venues and cultural sites – will feel the effects for weeks.”

Hotels in the 16 host cities have increased prices by hundreds of dollars a night, with an average increase of more than 300% around opening match dates, according to a report in The Athletic.
The Liberty Hotel in Beacon Hill is charging nightly rates of more than $800 on days surrounding the matches, about double its typical summer rate, and will host viewing parties with music, decorations, and themed menus, reported The Boston Business Journal.
Several other Boston hotels are rolling out promotions and special events around the World Cup.
XV Beacon has designed an exclusive World Cup at XV Beacon package, which starts at $12,000 and includes a luxury suite, gourmet breakfast, in-suite amenities, private luxury transportation to and from Boston Stadium, airport departure transfer in a house luxury vehicle (based on availability), a champagne welcome reception at Boston Stadium, priority dining reservations at XV Beacon, and more.

Hotel AKA is offering a Golden Goal Getaway package at its Boston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and New York City locations that includes an overnight stay in a guest room or suite, a $100 dining credit, access to a private cinema to watch games (where applicable), in-room access to FOX Sports to watch games, and a World Cup welcome kit with branded merchandise.
Revere Hotel Boston Common’s Global Matchday Getaway package includes overnight accommodations, daily breakfast for two, a soccer-centric room amenity, and two welcome craft cocktails at its Rooftop Revere Lounge.
Travelers can save up to 30% when they book the World Football Fan 2026 Savings Package at The Dagny Boston, which also includes complimentary access to a FIFA Watch Party at Urban Wild Boston, match screenings, and concierge services.
Fans in Boston will gather at a FIFA Fan Festival at City Hall Plaza, which will include food and beverages, live match broadcasts, and interactive games and activities.
The World Cup isn’t the only big event happening in Boston this summer. The city is also hosting the Tall Ships and semiquincentennial celebrations.
