For those who’d rather embrace rather than escape the cold this winter, the perfect winter destination is in Rhode Island, according to TravelHost.

The travel website released a list of 19 U.S. cities that are perfect for cozy winter long-weekend getaways and included Newport, R.I.

“Leaning into winter is a great way to enjoy the season, especially if you enjoy winter landscapes or snuggling up next to the fire with a good book,” TravelHost wrote.

Newport transforms into a “twinkling coastal wonderland” during the winter months, according to the site.

“Cobblestone streets dusted with snow, harbors lined with festive lights, and historic inns dressed in garland give this tiny state an outsized dose of cozy charm,” Laura Libert, of The Zimmerman Agency, told the site. “From storybook small towns to seaside villages that shimmer with holiday cheer, Rhode Island offers that perfect blend of New England nostalgia and movie-magic romance.”
