New Hampshire’s Pats Peak will debut a new quad lift next season

It will replace a triple lift in service since 1977.

A Pats Peak chairlift will carry its final riders this season after nearly five decades, marking the end of an era at the New Hampshire ski resort.

The Henniker resort’s Hurricane Triple Chairlift will be replaced next season by a new fixed-grip quad lift featuring a loading conveyor.

The Hurricane Triple Chairlift has been serving skiers and riders at the resort since 1977. The lift will be dismantled following this ski season and the new quad lift, designed and built by SkyTrac Ski Lifts of Utah, will be installed this summer, according to officials.

“This new lift is an exciting step forward for Pats Peak,” said Kris Blomback, Pats Peak general manager, in a statement. “We are dedicated to continuous improvements that enhance the skiing and riding experience for all of our guests, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to enjoy the benefits of this new quad next season.”

During the 2025-26 season, guests will find the new quad in the same location as the Hurricane Triple Chairlift. The lift will streamline operations with a state-of-the-art loading conveyor, a redesigned queue area to improve flow and accessibility, and a raised unload area for better access to Twister, FIS Race, and the Cascade Basin network, according to officials.

Pats Peak, which is owned by the Patenaude family, is in its 62nd season and offers 28 trails, 11 lifts, 9 gladed areas, terrain parks, and a snow tubing park.

To commemorate the lift’s legacy, Pats Peak is selling the retired lift’s chairs to the public. Guests interested in purchasing a chair can visit patspeak.com/chairsale.

Earlier this month, more than 100 people were evacuated from the resort’s Peak Triple chairlift due to wind gusts.
