Some of the best ski resorts in America are in New Hampshire and Vermont, according to Conde Nast Traveler readers.

“Deciding which ski resort to book for your next slope-side escape is a tricky task. You need to consider everything, from the cosiest hotels to stay at to best apres spots to visit,” wrote Conde Nast Traveler.

The travel publication recently released a list of the top 30 ski resorts in the U.S., part of its annual 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards, and five New England spots made the list: Bretton Woods in N.H. ranked No. 6; Killington Resort in Vermont ranked No. 15; Okemo Mountain Resort in Vermont ranked No. 17; Stowe Mountain Resort in Vermont ranked No. 18; and Waterville Valley Resort in N.H. ranked No. 27.

Bretton Woods, New Hampshire’s largest ski area and the top-ranked New England spot on the list, celebrated its 50th anniversary last season. Earlier this year, Stowe Mountain Resort was named among the top 10 skiing locations in the U.S. by The Family Vacation Guide and Killington Resort was named among the 10 best ski resorts in the U.S. and Canada by Good Housekeeping.
