Looking for the perfect place in Boston to cheer on the hometown team? It’s a no brainer, according to USA Today readers.

The publication released a list of the 10 best local sports bars in America on Wednesday, part of its 2025 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, and Cask ‘n Flagon in Boston ranked No. 6.

“There’s nothing quite like cheering on your favorite team surrounded by fellow fans, a cold drink in one hand and a buffalo wing in the other, and the big game on giant screens in every direction,” wrote USA Today.

America’s top sports bars have “electric atmospheres, an abundance of big-screen TVs, top-tier food and drink menus, and comfortable seating,” wrote the publication.

Here’s what USA Today wrote about Cask ‘n Flagon:

Operating just a few steps away from Fenway Park, Cask ‘n Flagon, also known as the Cask, is the perfect sports bar for a pint before heading over to watch the Sox. Since 1969, this lively venue has drawn guests with its hearty pub fare and fresh craft beer, and for anyone forgoing the game, there are plenty of high-definition TVs found all across the restaurant.

The No. 1 local sports bar is Ferg’s Sports Bar & Grill in St. Petersburg, Florida.

For the 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards lists, USA Today travel experts select 20 nominees in topics from food to lodging, destinations to things to do. Then the publication asks readers to cast votes to determine the top 10.
