What’s better than a New England getaway? A New England getaway with a discount.

Ahead, discover travel deals for food, transportation, hotels, and activities across the region this July.

Transportation

Southwest launched a three-day Independence Day sale on flights on July 1, with one-way fares as low as $49. The sale, good for travel between Aug. 4 and Dec. 17, ends July 3.

Save money on August airfare with JetBlue’s three-day summer sale, which features one-way flights for as low as $59. The sale ends July 17. 

Save money while exploring the Cape Ann communities of Gloucester, Rockport, Ipswich, Essex, and Hamilton by using the Cape Ann Transportation Authority (CATA), which is providing free rides on all regular bus services, including seasonal summer services, through Dec. 31.

Get a $20 free ride credit for Bluebikes due to summer MBTA service disruptions, courtesy of Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA. You can redeem the credit beginning on July 10 by entering the code BLUECROSSMAMBTA2 in the “Rewards” section of the Bluebikes app. The credit applies to both pedal bikes and ebikes, is available while supplies last, and must be used by Dec. 31.

Families with young kids can take advantage of Amtrak’s kids discount, where all children ages 2-12 ride for 50% off and all tots under age 2 ride for free.

Travelers can save money on ferry tickets to the Boston Harbor Islands this season. Weekday ferry tickets are $10 for Massachusetts residents (a $15 savings), or folks can get a discount code from a local library for 50% off tickets for up to four people.

Restaurants

You can get a free kids meal with the purchase of an adult meal the day after the Red Sox win at any Ninety Nine Restaurant & Pub.

Margaritas Mexican Restaurant is celebrating the Fourth of July on July 3-6 with its annual Independence Weekend Fiesta. Diners can score margarita flights for $10 and Jell-O shots for $3. The restaurant will also serve red, white, and blue margaritas for $6 each on July 3 only. The deals are available at all Massachusetts locations (Framingham, Northborough, Revere, and Waltham).

Enjoy discounted meals in Rhode Island during Providence Restaurant Weeks, taking place July 6-19. You’ll find deals on cocktails, meals, and prix fixe menus at participating restaurants.

Find out where to get $1 oysters every day of the week in Boston, at places like Publico Street Bistro & Garden to State Street Provisions to Trillium Fort Point.

Get 15% off lunch at The Vermilion Club in Boston all summer long by downloading this Lunch Pass. The pass, valid between June 1 and Aug. 31, is good for lunch only, excludes alcohol, and can be used multiple times.

Hotels

Snag 50% off your stay at 16 new luxury lofts known as the Boyd Block at The Docent’s Collection in Portland, Maine on select dates in August through October. The deal is available through July 31.

Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport, a waterfront getaway with a rooftop pool, is dropping its rates to $199 per night every weekend in July and throughout the entire week of July 21.

Benchmark Resorts & Hotels properties is celebrating Independence Day with its first Independent Hotel Sale, featuring nightly rates that begin at $17.76 between June 27 and July 11. New England properties taking part include Wayfinder Newport in Newport, R.I.; Spruce Point Inn in Boothbay Harbor, Maine; The Kendall in Cambridge, Mass.; and The Equinox Golf Resort & Spa in Manchester, Vermont. The rates are subject to availability.

Canyon Ranch Lenox, just named one of the best destination spas in the U.S., is offering a deal right now where guests age 13 to 21 can stay free with a paying adult. The offer must be booked by Sept. 1 for stays that take place by Sept. 15.

The Revere Hotel in Boston is offering 15 percent off rates for Canadian visitors during a special Canada Resident Offer, available now through September. Canadian residents must present a valid ID at check-in. 

The Hyatt Regency Greenwich, a newly renovated hotel in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, is offering a Greenwich Getaway Package through Sept. 30 that includes a two-night stay, complimentary daily breakfast for two, welcome cocktails for two, a summer kit with sunscreen, sunglasses, branded beach towels and chairs, a gourmet picnic basket, a one-hour private yoga session for two, and a one-hour private birding session for $1,650. The package is based on availability, includes blackout dates, and must be booked a week in advance.

Museums / Attractions / Activities

Campers can save money by booking with Campspot, an online marketplace for campgrounds and RV resorts,on July 15 during its 24-hour Retro Rebate. The offer is limited to the first 250 qualifying bookings and is valid for stays between July 15 and Aug. 15. After booking a stay with a minimum cost of $60, campers fill out a rebate form in the app. Campers then receive a $40 Visa gift card after their stay, which drops the average camping rate to $20 — the price it cost in 1985.

Tour Nauset Light in Eastham, the the iconic red, white, and black lighthouse featured on Cape Cod Potato Chips bags, for free on Sundays and Wednesdays this month.

Water Country water park in Portsmouth, N.H. is honoring active and retired military with free admission to the park July 1-6. Just bring a valid ID to the Guest Relations office near the park’s main gate. Plus, military members can bring up to four guests for $29.99. Check out other park discounts this summer as well.

Huttopia Southern Maine is offering New England residents a 20% discount on stays of two nights or more for all bookings made between July 24 and Aug. 7. New England residents can enter code RESIDENT20 when booking and will need a valid ID upon check-in.

Looking for a White Mountains excursion this summer? Loon Mountain Resort in Lincoln is offering free downhill mountain biking lessons. No reservations are required and bike rentals are available and can be reserved in advance for $25. 

MassArt Art Museum (MAAM) in Boston is hosting the free event Art on the Plaza on July 24, its annual midsummer party featuring live music and dance with A Trike Called Funk, cool treats, and creative activities for the whole family. 

The fourth annual Boston Race Amity Arts & Music Festival is a free day of family fun at Faneuil Hall on July 26, co-hosted by Ben & Jerry’s Boston and peasoupATTACK. The festival will include live music by Fantastic Cat and local artists, a community art project, raffle prizes, and free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. The festival promotes cross-racial friendship and collaboration in support of social justice and racial equity.

Every other Tuesday in Boston’s SeaportSIDE Presents hosts a free program called Summer Sketch, with live sketching classes for the public from 5 to 7 p.m. The program provides all art supplies and all art levels are welcome. The remaining dates this summer are July 29, Aug. 12 & 26, and Sept. 9. Register at this link

The Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) in Boston offers free admission every Thursday night from 5 to 9 p.m. Advanced tickets are recommended and become available at 10 a.m. the morning of the visit.
