Boston has one of the top fun runs in America in 2024, according to USA Today readers

A fun run in Boston full of four-legged friends was recently named among the best in the nation by USA Today readers.

The publication released a list of the best fun runs in America in 2024 on Friday, part of its 2024 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, and Fast and Furriest at Harpoon Dogtoberfest in Boston ranked No. 2.

The San Diego Santa Run in California is the No. 2 fun run in America.

Here is what USA Today wrote about Fast and Furriest at Harpoon Dogtoberfest:

This truly fun Boston event allows you to run with your dogs. Fast and Furriest kicks off with a 2.5-mile fun run/walk, followed by a “barking lot” party with food trucks and excellent beer from Harpoon Brewery, who even makes a nonalcoholic barley and peanut butter version for the pooches! There’s also a Fest-minster dog show with costumes, and net event proceeds go to charities, so everyone’s a winner.

This year’s Harpoon Dogtoberfest takes place on Oct. 6.

For the 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards lists, USA Today travel experts select 20 nominees in topics from food to lodging, destinations to things to do. Then the publication asks readers to cast votes to determine the top 10.
