Vt. travelers dealing with snow, sleet, rain

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Travelers in Vermont are dealing with a mixture of snow, sleet and rain on some slippery roads.

There’s a flood watch in effect for most of the southern and eastern parts of the state Wednesday, with up to 2 ½ inches of rain expected in some areas by the end of the day.

State police have responded to a tractor-trailer rollover on Interstate 91 in Rockingham. The accident happened at about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday and the truck is blocking the northbound lane of the interstate. Traffic was being detoured at Exit 5 northbound, U.S. 5, through Bellows Falls to Exit 6. It wasn’t known if there were injuries.

The National Weather Service says temperatures will fall below freezing starting late Wednesday afternoon, so the rain will change over to snow.
