American Airlines Left Customer On Hold for Six Hours
We’ve all called businesses and been put on hold. But how long are you willing to wait?
Renee Allen from Florida recently waited six hours.
“I realized this is crazy but I’m not going to give up,’’ she told FOX13.
The traveler was trying to reach someone in customer service at American Airlines.
She was scheduled to fly from Garden City, Kansas to Tampa via Dallas on Sunday. She received a text from American Airlines that her flight was canceled due to weather delays. She was rescheduled to fly out Monday.
The airline texted her a phone number to call to discuss her situation. So she called it. And she waited. And waited. And waited.
After six hours, she finally hung up.
“This was really horrible customer service,’’ she told Fox. “I just could not believe that I could not get through.’’
American Airlines released the following statement about the incident:
We apologize for the frustrating experience. It was a very challenging weekend due to extreme winter weather impacting the Dallas/Fort Worth area. American had more than 2,000 weather-related cancellations systemwide on Saturday and Sunday. We also had extended wait times in our reservations system and social media channels. We worked to re-accommodate customers as quickly as possible based on their individual travel plans.
Would you have waited six hours?
