This Week in Nuts: A Fight on a Flight, The Nutcracker, a Holiday Snack, and More
’Tis the season for nuts.
There are sweet and savory nut recipes, nutty crafts and recipes, a timeless ballet, Nat King Cole crooning about chestnuts, oh and airline executives going ballistic over bagged nuts in first class.
When Korean Air executive Cho Hyun-ah was served bagged nuts on a Korean Air flight at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City this week, she went a little nutty.

The flight was delayed over … nuts?!
She was served bagged macadamia nuts in first class. The horror! Apparently, according to the company’s first class etiquette, macadamia nuts should be served on a plate.

Cho Hyun-ah, the former Korean Air executive who resigned this week after a nut incident.
So 40-year-old Cho demanded to speak to the head of the cabin crew. Unsatisfied with that encounter, she made the pilot return the plane to the gate and ordered the head of the cabin crew off the plane. As a result, the flight left New York 20 minutes late and arrived in South Korea 11 minutes late.
Cho’s job title? Vice president in charge of in-flight experience. But not anymore because she resigned Tuesday and the airline apologized for her behavior. Oh, she is also the chairman’s daughter. Yeah.

The Nutcracker
It’s a holiday tradition.
The Boston Ballet’s “The Nutcracker’’ is playing at the Boston Opera House through December 31. This year, artistic director Mikko Nissinen set the story in the early 1800s, during the Jane Austen era, and used more than 350 costumes and the largest crew of dancers yet.

Paulo Arrais performed as The Nutcracker Prince during Boston Ballet’s “The Nutcracker” at the Boston Opera House.
You’ll be transported to a small town in Germany on Christmas Eve in 1835. Little Clara receives a Nutcracker from her godfather during her family’s Christmas Eve party. The nutcracker turns into a handsome prince who takes her on adventures through an enchanted forest and to his kingdom. Check show times and purchase tickets here.
